Position: Food Technology Teacher Location: Rochdale

Role and Responsibilities: As a Food Technology Teacher, you will:

  • Design and deliver engaging and comprehensive lessons that cater to students of varying abilities and learning styles.
  • Foster a hands-on learning environment where students can develop practical culinary skills, explore nutrition concepts, and understand food safety and hygiene practices.
  • Encourage creativity and innovation by introducing students to diverse cuisines, culinary techniques, and food trends.
  • Collaborate with colleagues to develop cross-curricular projects and initiatives that integrate food technology with other subjects.
  • Provide constructive feedback and support to students to help them achieve their full potential.
  • Promote a culture of respect, inclusivity, and collaboration within the classroom and the school community.

Qualifications:

  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent certification.
  • Specialisation or experience in Food Technology, Home Economics, Culinary Arts, or related fields.
  • Strong knowledge of food science, nutrition, food preparation techniques, and culinary traditions.
  • Excellent communication, organizational, and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to inspire and motivate students to develop a lifelong appreciation for food and cooking.

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
