We are working closely with a Secondary School situated in a suburb of Bedfordshire, easily accessible from Bedfordshire, Luton and Milton Keynes. This is a growing, modern Academy part of a nationwide successful Trust. They are recruiting for a Humanities Teacher - ideally a Qualified Teacher who specialises in either Geography, RE History who is available for a temporary contract for the Summer Term, with the view to continue if the school is the right fit.

The role would involve teaching a mixture of Humanities classes, with the timeable tailored to your subject specialist knowledge, predominantly to Year 7 - Year 10 GCSE classes (KS3/4).

Contract

On this full-time contract, you will be treated like a permanent member of staff with access to all CPD opportunities as well as PPA time included on your timetable. You would be expected to plan, mark and deliver Humanities lessons to your timetabled devised of KS3 and KS4 classes with PPA time included. You must arrive no later than 8:30am and finish at 15:10pm. 

Pay

You would be paid to the National Teacher Pay Scale salary between M1 - UPS1 on a daily rate equivalent.

The ideal candidate we would like to speak to will possess:

  • QTS or PGCE Qualification
  • Humanities Teacher with at least 1 years experience teaching up to KS4 in either Geography, History or Religious Studies
  • Understands their specialist subject curriculum 
  • Be passionate about teaching Geography and promoting learning in Humanities for excellent results
  • Good or Outstanding classroom practice with high expectations for achievements and behaviour
  • Be able to plan and deliver creative and stimulating lessons
