Learning Support Assistant – Secondary School, Oldham

Are you passionate about helping students reach their full potential? Do you have a desire to support young people in overcoming barriers to learning? A secondary school in Oldham is seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic Learning Support Assistant to join their team.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide targeted support to students with additional needs, including SEN (Special Educational Needs).
  • Work 1:1 or in small groups to help students access the curriculum and make academic progress.
  • Assist the class teacher in managing classroom activities and behaviour.
  • Support students with their emotional, social, and educational development.
  • Collaborate with the SENCO and teaching staff to create a positive and inclusive learning environment.

Ideal Candidate:

  • Experience working with children or young people, ideally in a school setting.
  • A strong understanding of the challenges faced by students with SEN or learning difficulties.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Patience, empathy, and the ability to build positive relationships with students.
  • A proactive and flexible approach to supporting both students and staff.
