Days:
Monday to Friday (term time only).
Pay:
£13 per hour.
Start date: September 2024 (we can offer local work leading up to summer in other schools).

Teaching Personnel are seeking Teaching Assistants to work within a lovely additional needs base within a secondary school in the Caerphilly area. The school are seeking caring and pro-active support assistants that have the initiative to work alone and as part of a team. This role entails classroom support with classes up to 15 pupils at a time with learning difficulties.  

About the role:

  • Part time hours 09:00am-14:00pm.
  • Working within the special needs resource base.
  • Assisting teachers with classroom support and interventions with pupils.
  • Offering support to pupils aged 11-16 with additional needs including Autism, ADHD, Dyslexia, Global Development delay, mental health and anxiety needs.
  • Rewarding role where you can make a positive impact on young pupils lives.

About the school:

  • Based in Caerphilly – mixed mainstream secondary school.
  • Separate additional needs base.
  • Onsite car park and access to public transport links.
  • Supportive and inspiring teaching and senior leadership team.
  • Seeking staff to work at the school on a long-term basis.

About you:

  • School experience desirable or experience working with children or vulnerable adults.
  • Strong literacy and numeracy skills.
  • An understanding of special educational needs.
  • Caring, patient and strong with communication skills.
  • Able to deal with disruptive and challenging behaviour.
