Exciting Opportunity: Psychology Graduate Teaching Assistant
Are you a recent Psychology graduate with a passion for supporting young people's educational and emotional development? Do you aspire to pursue a career in education or psychology? Join us as a Psychology Graduate Teaching Assistant at an Ofsted good secondary school in South Manchester. This is a full-time position starting in September and continuing until the end of the academic year, with the potential for the role to become permanent based on performance and school requirements.
Role Overview:
As a Psychology Graduate Teaching Assistant, you will work closely with teachers and SENCOs (Special Educational Needs Coordinators) to support students' academic progress and well-being. Your role will encompass a range of responsibilities, including:
Classroom Support: Assisting teachers in delivering lessons, providing one-to-one support to students, and facilitating group activities to enhance learning outcomes and engagement.
Individual Support: Working with students who have special educational needs (SEN), behavioural challenges, or social-emotional difficulties, providing tailored interventions and support to help them overcome barriers to learning and reach their full potential.
Behaviour Management: Implementing behaviour management strategies and techniques to promote positive behaviour and create a supportive and inclusive classroom environment.
Data Collection and Analysis: Collecting and analysing data on student progress, behaviour, and attendance, and providing feedback to teachers and senior leaders to inform intervention strategies and support plans.
Mentoring and Counselling: Providing mentoring, guidance, and emotional support to students, helping them develop resilience, coping skills, and strategies to manage stress and anxiety.
Collaboration: Collaborating with teachers, SENCOs, and other professionals to develop and implement individual education plans (IEPs), behaviour support plans, and interventions tailored to meet the diverse needs of students.
