SEMH Support Assistant 

A school based in Chorley specialising in supporting pupils with special educational needs and social, emotional and mental health needs require specialist support teaching assistants to encourage and guide their pupils learning and development.

As a Specialist Support worker, you must be nurturing, passionate and confident.

You may be faced with difficult situations and challenged with behaviour and you should be able to manage and de-escalate these situations.

About you -

  • Be passionate and creative in assisting to meet pupils’ individual needs.
  • Knowledge or experience of pupils with SEN or SEMH/ASD.
  • Understanding of the Safeguarding principles and Child Protection procedures.

Key Duties -

  • Participate in the planning of activities catered to the individuals.
  • Support the teacher in monitoring, assessing and recording pupils progress.
  • Promote pupils cognitive, social, emotional and behavioural development.
  • You will be required to adhere to their EHC plan and differentiate your approach to meet each individual pupils needs.

Key Information –

  • Full time or part time roles.
  • Term-time only role.
  • PAYE contract.
  • Secondary SEMH.
  • Chorley (PR7) based.
  • £12.90 + based on experience and additional duties.
