SEN - Autism Specialist Teacher

Are you a Qualified Teacher looking for a new challenge? A rewarding carer?

Wanting to make a real difference to the lives of children living with Special Educational Needs?

An opportunity has opened for a Qualified Teacher in a SEN school in Worsley M28. The pupils are of secondary age (11-16) with specialised needs including Autism, physical disabilities and other complex learning needs meaning that students are working at a much lower level than in mainstream education. The school provides education through a mixture of basic curriculum topics (English, Maths, etc.) as well as more specialist communication, social and life skills.

Each student’s Educational Healthcare Plan targets are the key focus for learning and drive their personalised curriculum. Explorative and play-based learning is at the heart of the school’s ethos. Your role as a teacher would be to find dynamic ways to keep students engaged and support their education, as well as adapting lessons to assure that learning is accessible to all.

This is a great opportunity for qualified teachers to enhance personal development by gaining experience in a specialist setting!

To apply for this position you must be a Qualified Teacher and be able to demonstrate a genuine passion for supporting pupils with SEN. Ideally the Teacher will have experience of working within a special school; however this is not essential as long as you can demonstrate a commitment to supporting vulnerable students in a specialist environment.
