Teaching Personnel are seeking an outgoing, enthusiastic, positive Teaching Assistant to work in primary schools in Abergavenny.

A successful Teaching Assistant will ideally have previous experience working with children inside or outside of a school environment. Other examples outside of a classroom are: playscheme, fostering, babysitting, sports coaching, nursery work, residential homes etc. A successful Teaching Assistant will be adaptable and passionate toward their craft, as well as effectively work alongside pupils with Additional Learning Needs.

Responsibilities for a Teaching Assistant in this role would consist of being able to support the pupils of the class with their learning and development. To be able to effectively supervise group work and activities alongside helping teachers to plan learning activities. Furthermore, you will be expected to create and build upon relationships with the teacher, pupils and parents to the benefit of the pupil’s educational development. Alongside this, you are to ensure the health and safety of the pupils within the classroom setting at all times.

A Successful Teaching Assistant Must:

  • Have an enhanced DBS Child workforce on the update service.
  • Be registered with the Education Workforce Council (EWC), we can help with this process.
  • Have the right to work in the UK.
  • Provide a proof of ID and Address.
  • Have the drive and passion to positively affect the classroom.
  • Put pupils’ day to day learning at the forefront of every day.

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
