Hours: 35 hours per week, Monday to Friday
Contract: 41 weeks per year (38 school weeks, plus training days and 2 flexible weeks)

Are you a creative individual with a passion for art and design technology? Teaching Personnel is working with a dynamic secondary school, seeking an enthusiastic Art & Design Technician to support their Art and Design Technology department. This exciting role offers the opportunity to work within a creative environment, playing a vital role in the technician team, and ensuring students can thrive in their artistic and technical education.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Support the Art and Design Technology department in preparing materials, resources, and equipment for lessons.
  • Maintain and organise the art and design workshop, ensuring all tools and machinery are in safe working order.
  • Assist with the setup of practical lessons, working closely with teaching staff to support the learning process.
  • Provide technical assistance to students, helping them to use workshop machinery and other creative resources.
  • Help organise and display student artwork and design projects throughout the school.

What We Are Looking For:

  • Qualifications: A minimum of 5 GCSEs (Grade C or above) in English and Mathematics, or equivalent qualifications or relevant experience.
  • Technical Skills: Experience with workshop machinery is an advantage, although full training will be provided.
  • Organisational Skills: Ability to stay organised, manage multiple tasks, and work to deadlines.
  • Team Player: A proactive, flexible approach with the ability to work well as part of a team.
  • IT Proficiency: Strong IT skills to support the organisation and management of resources.
