Job Title: Youth Worker

Location: Lancaster, Lancashire

Hours: Part-time (Monday-Wednesday)

We are seeking a passionate and motivated Youth Worker to join our team at a school in Lancaster. As a Youth Worker, you will be responsible for working with young people aged between 11 and 16, helping them to develop social, emotional and life skills through a range of activities.

Responsibilities:

- Plan and deliver a range of activities and programs that support young people's personal and social development, including sports, arts, and cultural activities.

- Support young people to build positive relationships with each other and with adults.

- Provide one-to-one support to young people who need additional help with their emotional wellbeing.

- Identify and respond to the needs of young people who may be experiencing difficulties at home or in their personal lives.

- Work collaboratively with teachers and other professionals to ensure that young people's needs are met.

Requirements:

- Experience working with young people aged between 11 and 16, preferably in a school or community setting.

- Knowledge of the issues facing young people, including mental health, social isolation, and poverty.

- Ability to engage and build relationships with young people from diverse backgrounds.

- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.

- A commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of young people.

- Have a child enhanced DBS or be willing to apply for one through Teaching Personnel.

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
