£275 - 350 per week

Trafford Park

Temporary | Full Time

A school in Trafford is looking for an Autism Specialist to join the support staff team on a temporary basis.

This role will focus on providing consistent support to the students at the school with Autism.

It is imperative that the applicant:

  • Holds a degree.
  • Has specific qualifications related to working with those with Autism OR SEN e.g Level 3 in Supporting Children with Autism.
  • Is able to maintain a positive demeanour in the face of adversity.

This presents itself as a real opportunity for an individual to enhance and develop their skills in working with students with Autism. The school is an Ofsted graded ‘Good’ School, which has an excellent SEN department. Whilst the amount of students with Autism at the school is relatively small, these students need extended individual support both across the school site and in the classroom.

Highlights of this role include:

  • Efficiently dealing with potentially volatile and challenging behaviour.
  • Ensuring pupils with Autism and SEN are catered for effectively within the classroom.

  • Updating SENCO on progress, as well as offering interventions whenever necessary.

It is also expected that the required individual will have a solid grounding when it comes to managing the individual needs of those with SEN. The school believes that it is imperative that children with SEN are able to engage with the mainstream process. Therefore, the individual will be required to ensure that these students can access the mainstram setting with ease.

This role is for an immediate start.

The school:

  • Located in Trafford, the M60 motorway is located close by.
