Immediate start, part or full time.

£10-12 per hour.

Are you a resilient individual who enjoys working with challenging students?

Do you have previous experience working with EBD or SEMH?

A number of schools in the Southampton area are looking for Learning support assistants who are confident in dealing with challenging behaviour. Previous experience in such a role is ideal, but graduates with expertise in sport or psychology looking to start a career as an LSA are also extremely desirable.

Key responsibilities:

-          Provide extra support to individual pupils within a class setting.

-          Deliver tailored learning activities set by the teacher.

-          Build a positive rapport with students to help them enjoy their learning.

-          Display empathy, understanding and support.

-          Have a positive approach that empowers students and helps with their wider development.

-          Be confident dealing with challenging behaviour but in a patient manner.

Typically the role as an LSA will involve 1:1 work with different pupils, but may also involve leading a small group. The successful Support assistant will help establish positive and healthy relationships, emotional wellbeing and developing social skills.

Initially the role will be temporary, but there is scope for permanent opportunities to develop. If you are interested then please apply ASAP with the view of starting immediately.
