An exciting opportunity has become available for a Full-time Behaviour Support Assistant to join one of our client Secondary Schools in the Wigan area.

This role is ideal for individuals with previous experience supporting pupils with SEN or additional learning needs. As a Behaviour Support Assistant, you will be expected to support identified pupils who are showing challenging behaviour and require additional support with their learning in a classroom environment. The successful candidate will be working with pupils on a 1:1 basis and in small groups, therefore experience within a similar role is desirable.

Job role:

  • Full-time Behaviour Support Assistant
  • Support pupils aged 11-16 who display challenging behaviour
  • Support children in small groups within a classroom or occasionally on a one-to-basis when withdrawn from mainstream classes.
  • Earn up to £1450 per month, depending on previous experience.
  • Monitor specific pupils’ progress and report these back to senior teachers.

In order to be shortlisted for this role, you must have relevant or transferrable experience to work with young people who can display challenging or disruptive behaviour.

Due to the location of the school being on the Wigan/Bolton border, our client school can be accessed via the M6, M60 and M61. For non-drivers, there are forms of public transportation with links to the surrounding areas of Greater Manchester including Wigan, Leigh and Bury.

For immediate consideration please apply by sending a CV (highlighting your education and previous school-based experience) via the link below or by contacting the Manchester West Secondary Branch. Alternatively, call the Manchester West Secondary office for any other information you may require.

All applicants will require the appropriate qualifications and training for this role. Please see teachingpersonnel.com/faqs for details.

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
