The successful Behaviour Support Assistant will support students in class across the subject areas and use skills in rapport building and de-escalation in order to ensure pupils are focused calm and remain on task. Due to some of the students displaying challenging behaviour, the role will also involve working closely with pupils who have been withdrawn from lessons.
The school caters for secondary aged pupils with Social, Emotional and Mental Health difficulties (SEMH) as well as other difficulties including ADHD and Autism. This specialist provision has a variety of resources to support its pupils such as classrooms, breakout rooms, vocational areas such as a kitchen and art areas amongst other things.
Having experience in supporting children who display challenging behaviour or have a variety of SEN is not essential but beneficial to fully flourish within this Behaviour Support Assistant role. If you are looking to develop or begin your career working with SEN and SEMH this would be a great opportunity to do so.
The school is located in the Stockport area and has great transport links to the surrounding area and Manchester City centre, including buses and trains.
To be successful in your application, you must be able to provide evidence of this as skills and experience.

Working hours are Monday to Friday, 8.30am-3.30pm approximately.

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
