A 2 form entry, OFSTED graded 'Good' primary school in the Wisbech area are looking for a member of staff to support across multiple classes to engage with pupils who demonstrate challenging behaviour. Succesful applicants would be taking on the role of a Behaviour Buddy to aid and support the pupils on a 1:1 basis, both in and outside of the classroom in order to increase attainment.

This role is ideal for applicants that have little experience working within schools, but have relevant experience supporting or working with children in a professional environment and are interested in starting a career within education.

As a Behaviour Buddy, you will be expected to:

  • Motivate and engage the pupil
  • De-escalate and maintain a good level of behaviour when required
  • Encourage and aid development of pupils while consistently reporting feedback to leading members of staff.
  • Work alongside key school staff to reduce levels of unauthorised absence and improve levels of attendance and behaviour of the pupil
  • Ensure that tasks are carried out professionally, but also in a fun and rewarding manner.

If you possess any of the following, then you are highly desirable for the role:

  • A Degree (BA, Masters)
  • Training (Team Teach, Norfolk/ Cambridge Steps)
  • Armed Forces Experience
  • Support Work Experience
  • Prison Guard Officer Experience
