Position: Biology Teacher

Start date: January 2023

A secondary school in the Rishton area are seeking a Science Teacher who specialises in Biology. This post is to commence following the new year; however, earlier start dates are welcome from applicants.

The school are seeking a Teacher who is confident, dedicated and enthusiastic. The Teacher will be required to have full-time availability, and will be confident teach across KS3/4.

The successful Teacher must have:

  • A confident qualified secondary Biology Teacher
  • Experience teaching Biology to KS3 and KS4 students
  • Strong subject and curriculum knowledge
  • Ability to stretch and challenge high achieving student’s whilst providing scaffolding for students who are struggling
  • Professional, punctual and reliable

What you will do:

  • Plan and deliver engaging lessons
  • Formative and summative assessment of pupils’ progress
  • Mark and provide feedback as per school policies
  • Effectively use the school’s behaviour policy to maintain a positive learning environment
  • Take on the role of Form Tutor - acting as a role model and pastoral support for your form
