EYFS/ KS1 Intervention Teacher
Full time/ Part time intervention role
Working across EYFS and KS1
Primary School in Blackburn
An average sized primary school in Blackburn are hoping to source an intervention teacher to work with children in EYFS, Year 1 and Year 2. As an intervention teacher you will be supporting small groups of children outside of the room and given allocated planning time during the week. The successful candidate will have a good understanding of the Foundation Stage and Key Stage 1 Curriculum.
The role is to start in September 2020 and Head Teacher has said the role will be until December initially, ideally they are hoping to have funding for the full academic year. At this stage, the Head Teacher is keen to consider suitable candidates on a full time or part time basis. You will be working with small groups of children providing intervention sessions focusing on Phonics, reading and vocabulary. The majority of the children in Year 1 and Year 2 will be working towards age related expectation, the Head Teacher is looking for a candidate who can boost groups of children and build on prior knowledge. You will be supporting children in EYFS who are not ‘school ready’ and need additional support. This role is ideal for an experienced teacher looking for a new challenge, equally it is suitable for an NQT looking to gain experience across a variety of year groups.
The Head Teacher is keen to settle a new member of staff ready to make a good impact. The children who attend school are mainly from the local area which is considered to be a mixed catchment. The Head Teacher is keen to introduce themselves to the suitable candidates before the start date, in the current situation this may be via a phone/ video call. They would also like to conduct social distancing/ video informal interviews.
