Female PE Teacher required

We are seeking an innovative and outstanding Female Teacher of Physical Education to work with multiple schools in and around Portsmouth. The successful candidate will be required to teach all abilities across KS3 and KS4 to the highest standard and to make a positive difference to academy life. You must be able to use a range of teaching strategies to inspire and motivate our students and demonstrate a commitment to sharing best practice with colleagues in the department. We are looking for a passionate teacher who brings PE to life, and goes above and beyond with their delivery. A willingness to support the Academy ethos and support of extra-curricular activities within the PE department is essential. Applications from NQT’s are welcome.

About the School

With just over 1000 students on role – the Academy is fairly large but well equipped to teach all of its pupils. Recently, the Academy had it performing arts department and Music department modernised to integrate IT systems into it learning, ensuring it stays at the forefront of modern teaching. The PE department was modernised in 2015 and has regular use of it attached community centre, offering pupils the chance to take full advantage of the large grounds it shares. The schools mission is focused around entitling their students, staff and community to an exceptional education.

Due to the recent success of internal promotion, a role for a female PE teacher has become available. Ideally the school are looking to appoint 1 Teacher full time but would consider a job share for the right candidates. Please note the academy can only consider applicants who are qualified with UK QTS or equivalent and at this point will not be accepting sports coach or graduate applications.

  • Have UK QTS
  • Have recent teaching experience of be an NQT of PE
  • Be a positive role model for all pupils in the academy
  • Be inclusive of pupils with SEN and SEMH integrated within the classroom

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
