Teaching Personnel wish to recruit hard working Graduate Teaching Assistants on behalf of a number of our client secondary schools in the area of Darwen and surrounding areas such as Preston. As a Graduate Teaching Assistant, you will provide much needed support to class teacher’s within the schools and also have to cover a number of gaps across the schools teaching faculty. Both full and part time positions, with the option for regular but flexible work to fit around your availability. Pay will be dependant on the days an hours you wish to work, you can expect to earn between GBP1000-GBP1400 a month. Previous experience working in a secondary school setting is preferred but not essential if you have a subject specialist Degree.

As a Graduate Teaching Assistant working within our client schools no day will be the same and you must be flexible and able to adapt to a number of roles and situations.

  • You will be working within class as a Teaching Assistant ensuring that all students understand the work that is being set and will be there to give guidance to pupils when necessary.
  • You may be asked to work alongside identified students on a 1:1 basis – this could be pupils who have behaviour difficulties or students with SEN needs.
  • It will be your responsibility to monitor behaviour throughout the lesson and reduce instances of low level disruption.
  • You may be asked to provide 1:1 tuition to students in your specialist subject or lead small intervention sessions to students who require additional support.
  • You will have the opportunity to provide general cover amongst lessons - which will be perfect if you are considering a PGCE application in the future.

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
