I am currently recruiting for a lovely secondary school in Preston. They have asked me to recruit a Graduate who would be in interested in a full-time Cover Supervisor role from September 2022 until August 2023.

The school are open to different types of candidates, such as the below;

- subject specialist graduate who is keen to work in a secondary school OR getting into teaching themselves

- previous experience working as a cover supervisor

- previous youth worker, support worker or teaching assistant

The school are a friendly village school and judged GOOD by Ofsted. The behaviour is exemplary, and staff are supportive and love to put their staff through plenty of CPD. They are looking for a person who is;

- punctual and reliable

 Teaching Personnel will also give you access to FREE CPD to help up skill yourself in preparation to a career in education and/or teaching.


If you are a subject specialist in either of the school subjects they teach, then you would also be involved in homework clubs and/or intervention sessions.

  • Cover Supervisor role
  • Working under the SLT to deliver pre-set work as a Cover Supervisor
  • Tutoring pupils with their GCSE exam preparation
  • Supporting on a 1-to-1 basis in lessons and to carry out small group sessions

The incoming graduate will ideally have previous experience of working with 11-16 year olds in an educational capacity, but this is not a requirement. Further being able to deliver resources confidently and to build effective working relationships with pupils is essential.
