The Headteacher of a reputable Primary School in Blackburn requires a full time Teaching Assistant to join their fantastic KS2 Team. This is a fantastic opportunity for a recently qualified Teaching Assistant who has recently completed their L2 or L3 qualification or candidates who have recently qualified with a BA Hons in Children Schools and Families.

The Headteacher is looking for a practitioner to work alongside children in Y5 and Y6 providing general class support and delivering small group interventions specifically tailored around Literacy and closing gaps in learning. This role is working Monday-Friday term time only and will be working from 8:45-15:20 with 30 minutes for lunch.

This is a new role in school and is funded through the COVID catchup funding. This role is to begin from Monday 6th September and will continue into the new academic year. This is an excellent and unique opportunity to really make a positive lasting impact in the classroom and gain experience within a fantastic school where children are eager to learn.

Essential Requirements:

  • 6 months classroom experience.
  • Minimum L2 childcare qualification or health and social care.
  • Full time term time availability from 7th June.
  • Genuine passion for working with children and maximising attainment in the classroom.
  • Good knowledge of English and Literacy.
