Protocol Education are currently looking for teaching assistants or support workers to work in an outstanding specialist college that caters for Post 16 students with special needs such as autism, physical disabilities & severe learning disabilities. As a teaching assistant you will be expected to create an environment that will empower each student to become confident, independent life-learners who can express themselves and develop their social skills. Successful candidates will focus on numeracy, literacy, sensory development within classes that include cooking, gardening. In addition, you will also have the opportunity to assist students within their work placements.
- Work with students on a 1:1 basis and within a class
- Assisting with recreational activities such as gardening, farming and bowling
- Support the learners in class on a one to one basis with numeracy and literacy
- Assist with their daily learning needs & activities such as shopping, washing & cooking
- Working within a supportive environment and team
