A specialist provision based in the Leyland area of Lancashire (PR25) require an additional member of teaching staff. They are looking for a teacher who can provide PPA cover/emergency cover across the school. The school provide a unique programme that promotes the pupils academic and social development (KS2-KS5).

The school

The school promotes a stable, safe, happy and nurturing environment for young people who display a variety of needs within SEMH and SpLD with challenging behaviour. All staff are skilled professionals with a variety of experience in education and social care settings. They offer a differentiated National Curriculum which focuses on providing opportunities for each individual pupil. Generally, they offer core subjects in the morning followed by optional subjects and therapeutic activities in the afternoon. The school have strong and effective intervention in Anger Management, Speech and Language Therapy, Literacy/Numeracy development, Social Skills/ Interaction and self-motivation.

The role

The key function of this role is to cover teachers PPA and unplanned absences across the school. There will be an expectation to deliver and support planning of lessons in the case of sickness, as well as providing pastoral support where necessary. The role is due to start on Thursday 1st September which is an INSET day, during the INSET day you will receive any relevant staff training/ briefing for the new academic year. You would be needed on an ongoing basis, initially for the full Autumn term (Friday 16th December 2022). As this is a new position in the school, the school have not yet decided as to whether the role will be full-time or part-time, therefore if you feel you mat be suitable for the role – please get in touch!
