Are you currently seeking a full-time position in school for the new academic year?

A vacancy has arisen within a primary school in Chorley. They require a specialist member of staff to provide one-to-one support to a child in EYFS with social communciation difficulties. 

Details of the role:

  • Working hours: 08:45 – 15:45, Mon-Fri
  • Hourly rate: £10.77 - £11.77 (dependent on experience)
  • Start date: 31st October 2022
  • Temporary with the potential for a school contract

Responsibilities will include:

  • Delivering tailored learning activities and providing learning support to meet the individual child's needs
  • Engaging, motivating and encouraging 
  • Supporting the child's social and emotional development
  • Effectively managing and de-escaling challenging behaviour
  • Effectively feeding back to the Class Teacher, SENCo and external professional
  • Attending meetings 


  • Level 2 Teaching Assistant qualification or above
  • Child workforce DBS on update service or willing to apply for a new DBS
  • Recent experience working alongside a child with social communication difficulties 
  • Familiar with SALT 
  • Pro-active, hardworking and committed to making a positive impact

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
