Specialist Teacher - ASD Specialist Resource Base (Primary)

Location: Cardiff

Pay: National Framework Rate (£138.56 a day)

Start date: ASAP, flexible basis, temporary

Teaching Personnel are seeking a Specialist Primary Teacher to work in one of our partner primary school’s Special Resource Base. The school, situated in the North of Cardiff, are seeking a Teacher that is passionate about supporting the social, emotional and communication skills of their pupils. As well as having a dynamic and unique approach to specialist teaching, the most desirable candidate will have high expectations of themselves and their pupils.

The role:

You will be working in the schools excellent Specialist Resource Base, with a small group of pupils with Additional Learning Needs. Main duties and responsibilities include (but are not limited too):

  • Planning, preparing, and delivering lessons tailored to the level of the students
  • Carry out and record regular assessment and progress reports
  • Ensure excellent behaviour management of the pupils in line with the school’s behaviour policy
  • Attend regular staff meetings
  • Take part in training to enhance and refine personal professional development

Requirements:

  • QTS or PGCE qualification
  • Child-only DBS on the update service and registration with the EWC (Teaching Personnel can help with this if needed)
  • Has excellent knowledge and experience working with children with ASD
  • Great knowledge and implementation of the Welsh primary curriculum
  • Relevant training SEN/ALN training
  • High levels of initiative
