We are currently seeking a Science Teacher to work 2 days a week at a provision for Children in Care and Looked After Children- rated Oftsed Good.
The successful Science Teacher will be teaching Science and Mathematics to KS3 and KS4 students.
This role will include having your own class of 4 students and a learning support assistant, and you will work closely with other subject specialists and therapeutic teams to plan and build lessons around their curriculum.
This school operate a team-teach approach, so you would be working alongside a number of supportive learning assistants. This school has a small tight knit team who all work really well to these students.
The students will display challenging behaviour, and all will havet trauma and mental health needs.
Many of the students here will be vulnerable and have a variety of emotional needs.
The successful Science Teacher will ideally have experience in building relationships with students of this nature, and be calm, resillient and empathetic in their teaching approach.
The team work really well together have a hands-on supportive head and leadership team. In order to apply for this role you will need to have a relevant teaching qualification, right to work documentation, an updated DBS, and relevant experience in working within the SEMH arena. Child related references will be required to validate this. NQT's may also apply for this position.
