SEN SEMH Tutors required in Long Eaton!

Teaching Personnel are currently working to recruit an experienced Social Emotional and Mental Health (SEMH) tutor. You will be working alongside children and young people with a range ofdifficulties.

As an SEMH tutor, you will be working with children in their own environment, care homes or family homes, to deliver them the best education and help them achieve the skills they need. The successful candidate ideally needs to have previous experience working with disadvantaged and vulnerable children and be committed to put 100% into making a positive impact on children’s lives. It’s important that you are able to build a positive and engaging relationship with our students. You will ideally have experience supporting students who can display very challenging behaviour; however, this does not have to be in a school-based environment as we will welcome applications from individuals who have experience in the Care or Mental Health sector.

We are looking for someone with:

  • Relevant tutoring experience and QTS (desirable but not essential)
  • Knowledge/experience of planning and delivering the National Curriculum
  • Care or support worker / Mental health/ Secure Units / Young Offenders  experience (desirable)
  • Counselling qualifications or similar (Desirable but not essential)
  • Excellent Time Management Skills
  • Full DBS update Check or willing to provide one (we can assist in this)
  • Confidence to deal with safeguarding concerns effectively, where appropriate
  • Professionalism, commitment to the role and reliability
