This is an opportunity to make a real difference to the lives of children with special educational needs and disabilities.

Learning Support Assistants (LSA) work alongside teachers and help teach skills to individual pupils. You'll be someone who likes children and young people and is willing to be responsible both for helping them learn, but also for their safety and wellbeing.

It's not always an easy job, but it offers huge job satisfaction. You'll be part of a supportive team and we'll teach you how. There are opportunities to progress as a Teaching Assistant, Supervisory Teaching Assistant and Higher-Level Teaching Assistant through our internal progression scheme.

About you:

  • This school is looking for candidates who are caring, have had experience of working with children and young people in either a voluntary or paid capacity. Experience of working with children with Special Educational Needs would be an advantage but is not essential as training will be provided.

The Role:

  • Support students with profound multiple learning difficulties in a SEN school on a 1:1 and group setting.
  • Assisting and implementing workshops that focus on building the student’s motor, speech, language, social skills, self-esteem, and independence.
  • To liaise with relevant health and educational agencies to promote joint working initiatives to meet the diverse needs of children.
  •  This is a long-term position (full-time) that could lead onto a permanent placement.  
  • To maintain a co-operative relationship and consistent communication with parents to keep them updated with their child’s progress

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
