Experienced SEN Teaching Assistant needed at Autism Specialist School in Peterborough. This alternative school aims to create a holistic and diverse learning environment where children and young people can thrive, feel nurtured, and enjoy learning. Each pupil is provided with a bespoke education package tailored to individual special educational requirements.

If successful, you will be working in a classroom supporting either primary or secondary pupils in the following areas:

  • Supporting pupils in 1:1 and/or small group settings
  • Providing both academic and emotional/behavioural support
  • Assisting the class teacher with academic activities and lessons

The ideal candidate will have:

  • Experience supporting children with autism, and/or associated learning disabilities
  • Confidence supporting children academically and managing challenging behaviours associated with autism
  • Commitment to ongoing training and development within the school
  • A warm and friendly approach

This is a full-time role, and the school are looking to appoint ASAP. This will be a temporary role to begin with, however there is the opportunity for a permanent placement pending a successful trial period.

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
