Academics Rochester is recruiting an SEN Teaching Assistant who is passionate about supporting children who have additional needs, providing them with the care and support needed to reach their potential.
In this role, you will be providing 2:1 support to a child in a Year 2 class, who has special educational needs. It is suspected that the child has autism however a diagnosis has yet to be confirmed. They are developing communication and language and will be intergrated as much as possible in to the mainstream classroom. The child may need some individual time in the sensory room when feeling overwhelmed in the main class.
We need someone that is familiar with working children with Autism and how to manage them in a positive way. The child can become frustrated and at times may try to leave the classroom. The child is happy and safe to work with. They need someone to provide additional attention and to form bonds of trust to help them grow and develop.
The school provides a happy and caring environment for the children.
