At Teaching Personnel, we are working closely with a Headteacher of a school in the BD2 area of Bradford who is looking to expand his Key Stage 1 Support Team in the SEN area. We are looking for an enthusiastic and reliable individual with the ability to provide specialist support to students assisted by the area.

Our client is looking to appoint a motivated and committed Teaching Assistant to work across the school with pupils who have additional needs including (but not limited to): Reading and Writing disabilities, Autism, Physical or Mental disabilities, severe and profound learning disabilities and pupils with varying levels of concentration such as ADHD/ADD

The perfect candidate would be confident in dealing with general special educational needs and be able to implement a nurturing, supportive environment. The ideal candidate would be confident in dealing with behaviour management effectively and passionate about providing high levels of pastoral support.

The role is temporary and full time and is due to start on 1st November 2021.

Responsibilities

  • Providing support and supervision to pupils, ensuring access to the curriculum in a safe learning environment
  • Promoting an inclusive and accepting environment
  • Prepare learning resources
  • Encourage positive peer interaction
  • Provide feedback to pupils/carers
  • Attend to pupil's personal needs, including health, social and welfare matters

Requirements

  • All candidates must hold a valid DBS check on the update server and if not, be willing to apply for this
  • Experience in an SEN setting is required either from an education or community setting
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Knowledge of the KS1 curriculum
