We are looking to appoint a Teaching Assistant to work with Special Education Needs Unit (SEN) in a Primary School in Llanelli. In this role you will be responsible for supporting pupils in Key Stage 2 (KS2) with Special education needs in small groups or on a 1:1 basis. The position is to start imminently and will continue for the academic year. For the right candidate, the opportunity to continue the role in to the next academic year and be offered a school contract will be possible.
The ideal candidate will already have experience of working with pupils that have Special Education needs and/or pupils that need extra support with learning. In this role you will possess strong relationship building skills as you will be supporting vulnerable individuals that are Secondary age but have the capacity of primary school pupils. The ability to act as a role model for these pupils will develop your relationship and aid the level of support you can give.
This is a challenging but also very rewarding role and would suit someone who has worked in any professional setting that involves working with Special Needs. We would welcome applications from those in professions such as working in Schools, Youth Workers, Residential settings etc.
To be successful for this role we would need a valid DBS and EWC registration to be processed (We can help with both of these registrations)

The school has a specialist provision for pupils with additional learning needs, you will be working within the base that provides an inclusive approach to learning. The school is a dual stream primary based in Carmarthenshire. There are over 250 pupils and a small percentage speak Welsh at home. As well as the mainstream classes, the school also has 3 centres for various SEN and language needs.
