Behaviour Support Worker / SEN Teaching Assistant | Team Teach

A mainstream primary school based in Sittingbourne are on the hunt for a Behaviour Support Worker/SEN Teaching Assistant to support pupils on a 1:1 basis and in class, across a range of year groups, with Behaviour issues and general SEMH (Social, Emotional and Mental Health) support.

If you have experience/training with Team Teach or de-escalation, restraint or positive reinforcement techniques we’d love to hear from you!

JOB DESCRIPTION:

·Behaviour Support Worker / SEN Teaching Assistant

·£66 - £75 per day 

·Support students with behaviour issues / SEMH support on a day-to-day basis

·Liaising with Class Teachers and the SENDCO regarding progress of children

·Provide a stimulating and safe learning environment for children

·Delivering specialist interventions

·Liaising with the school’s therapists

PERSON SPECIFICATION:

·Behaviour Support Worker / SEN Teaching Assistant

·Experience of supporting children (4-18) with SEN – Behaviour, PMLD, SLD, SP&L – Ideal (not essential)

·Childcare related experience, ideally with a SEN focus – Ideal

·You MUST be resilient, patient, calm-natured, empathetic & adaptable

·A hardworking and driven individual who will exceed all expectations of the role requirements

·Experience / Training with Team Teach or similar de-escalation, restraint or positive reinforcement techniques - Ideal
