SEN Teaching Assistant

We are looking to appoint an excellent and committed SEN Teaching Assistant to contribute to the teaching and learning. The successful candidates will be self-motivated, confident and be able to work well as part of the Primary team. The post holder will support pupils with additional needs in either Key Stage 1 or 2. A knowledge and experience of working with children with ASD would be beneficial.

The purpose of this role includes:

• Improve the quality of learning and foster the participation of students in the social and academic processes of the Academy;
• Seek to enable students to become more independent learners;
• Help raise the standards of achievement for all students.
• Work under close supervision of the Class Teacher and SENCo to ensure that all learning activities can be closely monitored. It is expected that all learning activities will be planned by the Class Teacher and delivered with the support of the post holder.

This role requires:

• NVQ level 3 or equivalent in Early Years and Education
• Previous experience of working within a childcare setting
• Experience of working with children with Special Educational Needs
• Excellent written and oral communication skills
• Ability to form and maintain positive relationships with students, colleagues and parents
