Protocol Education is a leading education recruitment company helping support assistants and teachers find work within a range of SEN schools and we are currently looking for enthusiastic and motivated SEMH support assistants.
As a SEMH support assistant you will be responsible for supporting children both in small groups and on a 1:1 basis. You will be managing challenging behaviour in the classroom and may be required to run intervention activities and report to staff members on pupils with ongoing needs both socially and academically.
As a person you must:
Be supportive, nurturing and kind
Exhibit patience and compassion
Have the ability to support children whilst maintaining authority in your role
Some experience working in the SEND sector with emphasis on behavioural issues
Ideal candidates will have a background in:
Support workers/Residential care
Graduates looking for a career in teaching
Please note. We undertake Safeguarding checks for all our workers in accordance with the DFE statutory guidance 'keeping children safe in education'. As part of these checks we require a current Enhanced DBS disclosure form for everyone working in schools. If you do not have a valid subscription to the DBS update service, we will require you to complete a new DBS application as part of the registration process which costs £40.00.
