Teaching Personnel are recruiting on behalf of an SEN School in Ringwood, which provides care and accommodation for up to students who have autistic spectrum disorder and/or learning disabilities. The service operates as a residential special school. Accommodation is provided for a number of children for 52 weeks of the year. Therefore, the service is registered as a children’s home. 

Your role will primarily involve:

• Working in the residential area providing guidance, support and encouragement to young people
• Enabling young people to develop by providing physical and emotional support
• Working as part of a team to maintain a stable, happy and caring environment that puts the health, safety and welfare of the young people first

Important qualities of this role are being a good role model and conducting yourself in a professional manner at all times whilst on duty or representing the company at outside events.

You will be required to work full time and you will either do an 'early' shift or a 'late' - EARLIES: 7am - 2:30pm or 7am - 5pm, LATES: 5pm - 10pm or  2:15pm - 9:45pm.

Person Specification

• Ability to follow a work pattern and attend work punctually and reliably
• To be able to communicate clearly and easily with young people and others in a variety of ways
• Ability to form appropriate, professional relationships with young people and others involved in their care
• Experience of working with children or adults with special needs would be beneficial but this is not essential. Full support can be given to those who do not have previous experience.

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
