We are looking for a Teaching Assistant to work in a primary school in Cambridge. 

You will be working as a one to one teaching assistant focusing on supporting a year 2 pupil with challenging behaviour. You will have prior experience supporting children or young adults in a similar role, but it does not have to have been school based. If you have supported a sibling/family member, worked in the community or a role you feel is similar, we would still love for you to apply! 

The position would be full time Monday - Friday 8.30-3.30 OR Monday - Friday 12.30-3.30 term time, hours are dependant on the successful applicant. The position is due to start as soon as possible, so you must be available immediately.

Desirable Applicants will need the following:

  • Patience and resilience when dealing with challenging behaviour
  • Able to show understanding of the needs of the child
  • Ability to provide 1 to 1 support to pupils with, social emotional and mental health needs
  • Prior experience supporting in a similar role
  • Transport in order to get to and from the school

In your role, you will 

  • Support the academic and emotional development of the child
  • Always act in the best interest of the child
  • Provide general support to pupils in the classes when required
  • Work with the class teacher and other relevant staff to agree how best to support the child

The role is challenging, but rewarding and well suited to somebody who is looking to continue a career supporting in schools and supporting those with special educational needs.

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
