Teaching Assistant

Primary school teaching assistant opportunity in central Norwich

I am working in partnership with a Norwich based federation, who are looking to appoint a full time teaching assistant. Depending on your skills and experience you could be working on a 1:1 basis with a pupil with Social, Emotional and Mental health needs, or you could be supporting upper key stage two pupils. The position would be for a minimum of half a term (roughly 6 weeks) and would be from Monday-Friday from 8.30am until 3.30pm. The role is likely to become a permanant role.

The school is located in West Norwich and are home to a diverse and inclusive community. 

Your day to day role will see you;

• Supporting the class teacher, preparing resources or working with specific pupils 
• Working one to one or with small groups
• Help pupils to engage and work to the best of their Ability
• Providing academic and emotional support
• Immersing yourself within the school community

In order to be successful in this role, you will;

• Be aware of the needs and backgrounds of pupils and show empathy and understanding
• Previous experience in a similar role, either in school or within the community, that can be referenced 
• Knowledge and a keen interest in supporting children with additional needs

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
