Are you looking to gain hands on experience working within an education setting?
Teaching Personnel are working with a primary SEN school with sites in Bournemouth and Poole, looking for Teaching Assistants to start in September 2022. The school caters for pupils aged 5-12 years with Social, Emotional and Mental Health needs (SEMH). Pupils may also have additional needs such as ADHD and Autism. The school follows the National Curriculum and runs similarly to a mainstream primary school, with small class sizes of around 6-8 pupils. The school is an Outstanding setting offering learning opportunities to the communities more vulnerable children.
The school provides excellent training and development, and is a fantastic opportunity for someone looking for a career in education - whether that be going into teaching (the school can support with teacher training) or for someone looking to go down a different route in education, such as educational psychologist or family liaison officers. Working in a school alongside university, or on your gap year, offers hands on experience in an education setting whilst also getting experience with SEN and mental health needs. Working in the school for a placement year would also open up opportunities for after you graduate!
You will be working as a class based Teaching Assistant. This will involve supporting the teacher with the lessons and helping pupils with their work. You will also be required to support children on a 1-1 basis and will be responsible for behaviour management and providing emotional support.
The ideal candidate will be an enthusiastic, pro-active person who has a real passion for supporting children with behaviour needs. You must be a confident and resilient person. Experience working in a school is not required.
This is a full time role to start in September 2022.
All applicants will require the appropriate qualifications and training for this role as well aas the Right to Work in the UK. Please see teachingpersonnel.com/faqs for details.
