Tutor Opportunities – Greenwich

Teaching Personnel Tuition Service is looking for tutors to join our service. We supply tutors to the Royal Borough of Greenwich, as well as schools and alternative provisions within the borough and occasionally the surrounding boroughs too.

The tuition role involves:

  • Working 1:1 with children who require access to education – you will be tutoring children with additional needs including behaviour, mental health, special needs or emotional barriers to learning
  • You will work face to face in a school, a local library, the student’s family home, a foster home or children’s home
  • You will tutor maths and English – most commonly at functional skills level 1 or 2, but occasionally at GCSE level (primarily foundation)
  • You will report back once per week on progress and attendance
  • You will plan, prepare and assess all materials

The pay rate is £25/hour and we are a PAYE company. Most tuition referrals are for 2 hours per day, 5 days per week, term time only. You can take on more than one student per day if you would like to build up your hours.

  • Please note you do not need to be a fully qualified teacher, however possessing an alternative teaching or education based qualification would be beneficial if you do not already have QTS

If you are interested in providing tuition or finding out more, please contact Teaching Personnel by applying and attaching your CV today.

All applicants will require the appropriate qualifications and training for this role. Please see for details.

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.

Teaching Personnel is committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children. We offer all our registered candidates FREE child protection and prevent duty training. All candidates must undertake or have undertaken a valid enhanced Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS) check. Full assistance provided.
