Y6 Teacher - Sheffield

After a recently change in staffing and re shuffle within school, The Teaching Personnel Sheffield Branch on behalf of a large primary school situated in North Sheffield are looking for an experienced Y6 teacher for a full-time, long-term role starting after the October half term.

The Role:

  • Full time, fixed term contract to start after the October half term until the end of the 2023 academic year.
  • Start date, November 2022
  • 2 form entry Primary School

Role requirements and expectations:

  • Hold a QTS or equivalent
  • Have a genuine interest in child development and education
  • Strong leadership skills
  • Understanding of safeguarding policies and procedures
  • Positive, can-do attitude
  • To work closely with the school to ensure expectations are understood and support can be given
  • To have good behaviour management skills and confidently run lessons for classes of up to 30 students
  • To be compassionate and have an understanding of SEN / EAL / additional needs and how to adapt within the classroom to ensure all pupils have an equal opportunity in their learning environment
  • To deliver pre-planned lessons - To have an understanding of the national curriculum and how to promote learning and development 

The school is looking for an outstanding Y6 teach who will commit to upholding the school’s high standards and adopt the schools ethos in creating upstanding young members of the community, installing a passion for learning.

The successful year 6 teacher will be given adequate timetabled PPA time to plan alongside their parallel teacher, and also have the added support of a skilled Level 3 Teaching Assistant in class.

A year 6 teacher with previous SATs experience is desired but not essential for the school to continue moving forward successfully.

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
