The successful Youth Worker will support students in class across the subject areas and deliver targeted interventions to students on a 1:1 basis during lessons and break times. Due to some of the students displaying challenging behaviour, the role will also involve working closely with pupils who have been withdrawn from lessons. The school, which has been recently rated as ‘Good’ by OFSTED, provides these children with a calm and positive environment where the pupils can flourish and succeed. This has been achieved through the hard work of the teachers and their assistants in developing strong relationships with these pupils allowing for a sense of trust which leads to academic achievement. The staffs at this school are proud to work there and are looking for new support workers to assist them on the way to becoming ‘Outstanding’. Having experience in supporting children who display challenging behaviour or have a variety of SEN is not essential but beneficial to fully flourish within this Youth Worker role. However, experience of a Sporting background in coaching or teaching would be desired but not essential.
