1:1 Autism / SEN Support

Are you looking to make a real difference in the life of a young learner while gaining valuable hands-on experience in a specialist educational setting? Teaching Personnel is offering a fantastic opportunity for a dedicated and compassionate individual to work as a 1:1 SEN Support for a student with autism and some challenging behavior at one of our partner schools in Bolton.

As a 1:1 Support, you'll work closely supporting students with Special Educational Needs, helping them navigate the school day, manage their behavior, and engage in meaningful learning experiences. This is an incredibly rewarding role where you can play a key part in a child’s development, ensuring they have the support they need to thrive. Your main responsibilities will include:

  • Providing tailored 1:1 support, ensuring the student stays engaged and focused throughout the day.
  • Implementing strategies to help manage challenging behaviors and promote positive social interactions.
  • Assisting with daily activities and lessons, adapting your approach to meet the child’s unique learning needs.
  • Working closely with teaching staff and support teams to create a consistent and nurturing environment.

This is an ideal opportunity if you're looking to gain practical experience in an SEN educational setting. Whether you’re starting a career in education, looking to build SEN experience, or simply want to make a difference, we’ll provide you with:

  • Ongoing support and guidance from Teaching Personnel’s experienced consultants.
  • Valuable hands-on experience working directly with a student who has autism.
  • Training and development opportunities to help you grow in your role.
  • Insight into SEN teaching strategies and behavioral management techniques.
  • Competitive pay, reflecting your dedication and commitment to SEN support.

We need someone who is:

  • Compassionate, patient, and proactive, with a genuine desire to help students succeed.
  • Experienced or interested in working with children with autism and behavioral challenges (experience is preferred, but not essential – the right attitude is!).
  • Able to adapt quickly and think on your feet in a dynamic school environment.
  • Confident in building positive relationships, with a commitment to providing consistent support.

This role offers the chance to make a significant impact on a child’s learning and development, while also building your own skills and experience in an SEN setting. If you’re ready to take on this fulfilling challenge, we’d love to hear from you.
