The school specializes in nurturing children with special educational needs, including Social, Emotional, and Mental Health (SEMH) issues, Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD), and Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder (ADHD). The Role:

They are seeking a dedicated 1:1 Learning Support Assistant (LSA) to join their committed team, supporting children with Education, Health, and Care Plans (EHCPs). This role is integral to their mission, providing personalized assistance to students who require additional support to thrive academically, socially, and emotionally.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide individualized support to students with EHCPs, ensuring their specific needs are met.
  • Develop strong, trusting relationships with students, creating a safe and nurturing learning environment.
  • Assist with the implementation of tailored educational programs and strategies.
  • Support students with special educational needs, including SEMH, ASD, and ADHD, promoting positive behaviour and engagement.
  • Collaborate with teachers, parents, and other professionals to monitor and report on student progress.
  • Foster an inclusive and supportive classroom atmosphere, encouraging student participation and confidence.

Qualifications and Experience:

  • Experience working with children who have special educational needs and behavioral challenges is preferred.
  • Patience, empathy, and a genuine passion for supporting children's learning and development.
  • Ability to build strong, positive relationships with students, helping them feel safe and valued.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Relevant qualifications in education or special needs support are desirable.

The school are looking for the right educator to help support children who attend their school. They are an semh school and they are looking for an experienced candidate who can deal with any issues the children may face in a sensitive and understanding way. It is important that you are able to create strong bonds with both the children and staff to ensure everybody feels supported, safe and happy in their environment.

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
