Job Description:

As a 1:1 SEN Teaching Assistant, you will:

Provide Individualized Support: Work closely with a specific student, offering tailored support to meet their unique learning needs.

Assist in Classroom Activities: Support the student during classroom activities, ensuring they can engage and participate fully.

Develop Learning Resources: Help create and adapt learning materials to suit the student's requirements.

Monitor Progress: Track and report on the student's progress, collaborating with teachers and SEN coordinators to adjust support strategies as needed.

Promote Independence: Encourage and facilitate the student's independence and confidence in their learning journey.

Person Specification:

To be successful in this role, you should have:

  • Essential Experience: Proven experience working as an SEN Teaching Assistant, with a strong understanding of various SEN needs such as autism, ADHD, and learning disabilities.
  • Patience and Empathy: A patient, compassionate approach to supporting children with special needs.
  • Strong Communication Skills: The ability to communicate effectively with students, teachers, parents, and other professionals.
  • Adaptability: Flexibility to adapt strategies and approaches to meet the individual needs of the student.
  • Commitment: A dedicated and enthusiastic attitude towards helping children achieve their full potential.
