Location: Colne
Hours: Full-time, 8:00 am - 4:00 pm, Monday to Friday
Contract: Temp to Perm

About the Role:

We are seeking a 1:1 Support Assistant to work full-time in Colne, providing dedicated support to a pupil with additional needs, including SEMH and Autism. This role requires patience, understanding, and a commitment to creating a positive learning environment tailored to the pupil's individual needs.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide 1:1 support to a pupil, helping them engage in classroom activities and achieve their educational goals.
  • Work closely with teachers and other staff to implement personalized learning strategies and behaviour management plans.
  • Foster a supportive and nurturing environment that promotes the pupil's social and emotional development.
  • Assist with daily routines, including transitions between activities, to ensure a smooth and supportive learning experience.
  • Monitor and report on the pupil's progress, collaborating with the wider team to adjust strategies as needed.

About You:

  • Previous experience working with children with SEMH needs and Autism is highly desirable.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build a positive rapport with pupils and staff.
  • A patient, empathetic, and resilient approach to working with children with additional needs.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team, adapting to the changing needs of the pupil.
  • A commitment to promoting inclusion and a positive learning environment.
