About Us: We are working with a dedicated SEMH and Special Educational Needs school located in the Wirral, committed to providing a nurturing and supportive environment for our students. Their goal is to help each child achieve their full potential by providing tailored support and interventions.

The Role: We are seeking experienced 1-1 Learning Support Assistants to join their team. You will be working closely with students who have Education, Health, and Care Plans (EHCPs) to ensure they receive the individualized support they need. Your primary responsibilities will include:

  • Supporting students with Special Educational Needs on a 1-1 basis.
  • Helping students manage and overcome challenging behaviours.
  • Building trusting relationships to break down barriers to education.
  • Collaborating with teachers and other support staff to create a positive learning environment.

Requirements:

  • Proven experience working with children with Special Educational Needs.
  • Ability to support and manage children who may display challenging behaviours.
  • Strong empathy, patience, and a supportive nature.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to build trusting bonds with students.
  • A commitment to helping children achieve their best.

The ideal educator would be somebody who has experience working with children wit social, emotional and mental health struggles. They will be able to comfortably deal with any challenging behaviour and de escalate any situations that may arise.

The school are looking for a passionate team player who can join their team, set great examples and keep the children safe and comfortable.

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
