1:1 Teaching Assistant New

Teaching Personnel are working with a number of primary schools in Eastbourne and Hailsham who require 1:1 teaching assistants. We are looking for individuals who have experience in or out of the classroom working with children and young people who have additional needs and/or mental health challenges.

As well as supporting the schools we work with, we also invest in the learning and development of our educators; providing free courses, webinars and information packs to ensure you can grow and develop in your career whilst you work with us.

We are looking for individuals who:

• Have a strong understanding and knowledge of children’s mental health
• Have a strong knowledge and understanding of safeguarding and keeping children safe in education
• Are patient and resilient with good skills in behaviour management
• Are able to assist children in processing difficult emotions
• Are willing to attend a trial to assess suitability for the role (where applicable)

 Teaching Personnel educators are:

• Professional at all times
• Pro-active and self-motivated
• Up-to-date on their safeguarding training and knowledge with the ability to navigate every scenario effectively and appropriately
• Punctual
• Flexible and understanding
• Organised and prepared

We offer a both short term and long term roles depending on the needs of each school, so please get in touch whether you have part time or full time availability.

Rate of pay is £12.90-£14.50 per hour depending on specifics within the role and applicant experience.

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
