1:1 Teaching Assistant (Full-Time)

We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated 1:1 Teaching Assistant to join our supportive team in a vibrant Cardiff primary school. This is a full-time position where you will work closely with a student who requires additional support, helping them to achieve their learning goals in a nurturing and inclusive environment.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide tailored 1:1 support for a pupil with special educational needs (SEN), focusing on their individual learning and emotional well-being.
  • Assist the class teacher in planning and delivering differentiated lessons.
  • Support the pupil in their personal, social, and academic development.
  • Use effective behaviour management strategies to ensure a positive learning atmosphere.
  • Communicate regularly with parents, the SENCO, and other staff to monitor the pupil’s progress.
  • Encourage independence while providing necessary guidance and support.

Requirements:

  • Understanding of special educational needs and how to support them effectively.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Patience, empathy, and a passion for helping children achieve their potential.
  • Ability to work collaboratively with teachers, parents, and other professionals.

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
