121 Teaching Assistant

We are seeking a compassionate and skilled 1:1 Teaching Assistant to join our client secondary school. The successful candidate will provide tailored support to individual students with specific learning needs, helping them to achieve their academic goals and develop essential life skills. This role is crucial in promoting an inclusive classroom environment where every student can succeed.

The school is situated in the heart of Old Trafford, a short walking distance from local public transport options, but also boasts a large car park for members of staff with a vehicle.

Key Responsibilities

  • Work closely with assigned students to support their learning in accordance with their Individual Education Plans (IEPs).
  • Assist in the delivery of differentiated instruction and adapt teaching materials as necessary.
  • Foster a positive relationship with students, encouraging engagement and participation in classroom activities.
  • Monitor student progress and provide feedback to teachers regarding individual performance and areas for improvement.
  • Collaborate with teachers, parents, and other professionals to ensure a holistic approach to each student’s education.
  • Help maintain a safe and supportive classroom environment conducive to learning.
  • Participate in training sessions and professional development opportunities as required.

Qualifications & Skills Required

  • Experience working with secondary school students, particularly those with special educational needs (SEN).
  • Strong communication skills, both verbal and written, with the ability to build rapport with students, staff, and parents.
  • Patience, empathy, and a genuine passion for supporting young people in their educational journey.
  • Ability to work independently as well as part of a team.

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
